An Island that Used to Be

Aji island was where my grandparents used to live and I often visited them when I was a child. During festive and special occasions, we would gather with our family and relatives. These fond memories still linger vividly in my mind. Right in front of my grandparents’ house was a private beach where there were virtually no tourists so we could have it all to ourselves. Fast forward to today, my grandparents are gone and none of my relatives live there anymore, so I do not have a reason to visit Aji island anymore, but pangs of nostalgia and images of the good old days still flash past my mind from time to time. Sometimes I close my eyes and listen to my heart and I can feel that a part of me wants to move there someday, for good.
